The 2017 WiLL/WAND Conference "Women at the Tables of Power" will take place October 1-3, 2017!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When does the conference begin and end?
A: The conference will begin at approximately 12:00pm EDT on Sunday, October 1 and conclude at approximately 4:00 pm EDT on Tuesday, October 3. Please plan to depart after 6:00pm EDT on Tuesday, October 3.

Where is the conference taking place?
A: The conference is taking place at the Washington Court Hotel, located at 525 New Jersey Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20001.

How much is registration and what does it cover?
A: The conference registration fee is $150 until Friday, August 4. After Friday, August 4, the registration fee will be $200. The registration fee covers meals and events during the conference. Registration closes on Wednesday, August 30.

Are any scholarships available?
A: Limited travel scholarships are available to attendees on a first-come, first-serve basis. Our scholarships include two nights in a shared room at the conference hotel (Washington Court Hotel) for the nights of Sunday, October 1 and Monday, October 2 and reimbursement of travel costs up to $350. Please contact Adzi Vokhiwa for more information about scholarships.

Which airport is closest to the conference?
A: Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) in Arlington, VA is the closest airport. However, the Washington, DC metro area is also accessible from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) in Sterling, VA and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) in Baltimore, MD. The Washington Court Hotel does not offer shuttle service to any of the area hotels.

Is the Washington Court Hotel accessible via public transportation?
A: Yes, the Washington Court Hotel is 0.4 miles away from the Union Station Metro Station (red line). More information about public transportation in the Washington, DC metro area can be found at www.wmata.com.

Are there rooms available in the Washington Court Hotel?
A: Yes, WAND has secured a group rate of $259.00 + 14.5% tax (single room) or $129.50 +14.5% tax (double room) for the nights of Sunday, October 1 and Monday, October 2. The cutoff date to be included in the WAND room block is Wednesday, August 30.

How do I make my hotel reservation?
A: Your hotel reservation will be made upon registration. Please contact Adzi Vokhiwa if you have any questions about rooming arrangements.

Can accommodations be made for special diets?
A: Yes, please notify Adzi Vokhiwa of any dietary restrictions ahead of time.

In case of an emergency or last minute conflict, how do I cancel my registration?
A: If necessary, please contact Adzi Vokhiwa to cancel your registration no later than Wednesday, August 30.
